‘m 16 Years Old With A 103.2 Fever.?
I’ve been taking CVS’s Extra Strength Pain Relief caplets to make my fever go down, but this is my second day and not only does it not decrease but it went from 101.1? – 103.2. I’m also taking Sildec PE-DM Syrup, but I’m not sure why, doctor just prescribed it…My doctor said I had a cold but isn’t a fever of 103.2 dangerous enough to head to the ER ASAP?
I actually feel a little warm but I’m also a bit cold. My throat is on fire and I have a lot of mucus.
My head kinda hurts, but not as much as in the morning. Oh yeah, when the doctor was examining me, he asked if I felt sore anywhere, I’m thinking my muscles, but I said no. Today in the morning, I was a little sore near the bottom of my rib cage but maybe it was because I slept on my sides, which I normally don’t do.
What should I do? My parents haven’t said anything about going to the hospital yet, btw.

You should go to a doctor. Now
You should be drink ALOT of cold fluids–especially water your body will get dehydrated wth such a high fever, and the fever is high..You can also take a shower/bath in regular water—it will feel freezing to you due to your high temp–but this will help bring the temp. down…I would also suggest you call your doctor BUT you may have an infection that has to “run its course”

That is VERY dangerous and I hate to scare you, but with a temperature as high as 103, you are putting yourself at risk of death. People with colds do not get fevers of 103. There is obviously something else going on and I think your doctor is an idiot and you need to get a second opinion. What you need to do at this point is get to the emergency room ASAP. Influenza kills thousands of people a year. Get to a hospital immediately. You might have a really bad infection, or virus, which may be the flu. But either way, with a fever of 103, you need to go to the hospital immediately. Good luck, I hope you feel better.
